"Members recognize that a commitment to ongoing professional learning is integral to effective practice and to student learning. Professional practice and self-directed learning are informed by experience, research, collaboration and knowledge" (Ontario College of Teachers, 2018).
The resource linked above provides a wealth of knowledge and further resources for educators to learn about cultural inclusion and implement strategies and texts that promote cultural inclusion within their classrooms.
As an educator invested in ongoing professional learning, it is important to use and seek out additional resources, such as the one above, to participate in continuous learning and build upon existing knowledge. The resource above is an excellent place to start. While some learning can be self-directed through research, such as through the site above, it is also important to to note that learning can take place through experience and collaboration with others.
It is my goal as a future educator to collaborate with other educators, and learn from their experiences, as well as through personal research and a continued curation of helpful resources and strategies I can implement that foster cultural inclusion.
